RECYCLE REPURPOSE REIMAGINE
This ART is now made with less material
Amazon’s new slogan, “This box is now made with less material,” has become a recognizable emblem of their commitment to sustainability. By using less material, they contribute to less waste and a reduced environmental footprint. As an artist and architect, this ethos resonates deeply with me. Conscious material choices have always been at the heart of my work, driving me to prioritize sustainability wherever possible.
Reusing and repurposing materials has become an exhilarating creative process for me—a journey of transforming the ordinary into extraordinary stories. This passion inspired my series, “This ART is now made with less material,” a collection of whimsical miniatures crafted from recycled cardboard, brought to life with acrylic and graphite. Recycling, repurposing, and reimagining the humble cardboard box became the foundation for my latest creation: “New York Miniatures.”
This collection features 4” x 4” acrylic paintings, framed at 8” x 8”, each inspired by my travels to New York City. From a distance, the installation conceals both its unconventional material and the inspirations behind it, encouraging curiosity. It is only when viewers step closer, immersing themselves in the details, that the artworks unfold their charm, revealing the layered stories and the vibrant essence of New York. Each piece invites the viewer on a personal journey, one of discovery and delight, through a whimsical reimagining of the city’s spirit.
